Diagnostic Products and Technologies

Explore Diasorin’s diagnostic platforms and solutions.

Discover the immunodiagnostic and molecular diagnostic technologies that power Diasorin’s test portfolio and support clinical laboratories across a wide range of therapeutic areas.

Simplexa® Directassays are real-time PCR tests designed to deliver rapid, sample-to-answer results with streamlined workflows.

Simplexa® Direct assays such as Simplexa® COVID-19 / Flu A/B & RSV Direct allow laboratories to test directly from clinical specimens in a sample format without a separate nucleic-acid extraction step.

This “direct” approach reduces hands-on time and enables faster turnaround for critical infectious-disease targets, supporting rapid decision-making in hospital and lab settings. The expansive and highly differentiated menu includes claims exclusive to Diasorin.

Diasorin offers several solutions that support respiratory syndromic testing.

LIAISON PLEX® Respiratory Flex Assay offers customizable syndromic testing, allowing labs to report only what’s necessary, and expand results without retesting based on seasonality and patient need.

Simplexa®COVID-19 / Flu A/B & RSV Direct and other Simplexa® respiratory assays provide rapid molecular detection of key seasonal respiratory viruses directly from clinical specimens.

LIAISON NES® offers two assays: one for simultaneous detection of COVID, Flu A/B and RSV and one for the precise detection of group A strep, aimed at rapid testing in near-patient settings.

NxTAG® Respiratory Pathogen Panel (RPP) v2 and NxTAG® RPP + SARS-CoV-2 broaden coverage to multiple respiratory viruses and bacteria—including influenza A/B, RSV and SARS-CoV-2—in a single syndromic panel.

Together, these solutions allow labs to tailor respiratory testing from high-throughput panels to rapid targeted assays.

Diasorin provides a full range of diagnostic kits and reagents including:

  • CLIA immunoassays for infectious diseases, endocrinology, metabolism and gastrointestinal disorders (LIAISON® XL and LIAISON® XS).
  • Targeted PCR-based assays such as Simplexa® C. auris Direct and other targeted infectious disease assays as well as Primer Pairs (ASRs)
  • Syndromic multiplex panels through LIAISON PLEX® and NxTAG® technologies (Respiratory, GI, Bloodstream).
  • Point-of-care assays on the LIAISON NES® system (Respiratory)

These products are listed across the assay pages in each product family on the US Diasorin website.

NxTAG® assays are used for syndromic panel testing, where multiple pathogens are detected from a single sample.

  • The NxTAG® Respiratory Pathogen Panel (RPP) v2 combines multiple viral and bacterial respiratory targets in one assay, enabling laboratories to evaluate a broad set of pathogens when patients present with respiratory symptoms.

This syndromic solution help clinicians interpret complex respiratory clinical presentations more efficiently.

Diasorin offers a portfolio of platforms that cover immunodiagnostics and molecular diagnostics for clinical laboratories.

The LIAISON® family of analyzers (LIAISON® XL and LIAISON® XS) provides fully automated CLIA immunoassay testing across specialties such as infectious diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, and metabolic disorders.

In molecular diagnostics, Diasorin provides LIAISON NES® for point-of-care,Simplexa® Direct for specialty targeted tests, as well as LIAISON PLEX® and NxTAG® assays for panel-based syndromic testing.

The LIAISON® platform is Diasorin’s family of fully automated chemiluminescent immunoassay (CLIA) analyzers designed for medium- to high-throughput clinical laboratories.

The LIAISON® XL and LIAISON® XS share the same CLIA technology, allowing labs to scale capacity while maintaining consistent results.

LIAISON® systems support a broad range of clinical applications, including:

  • Metabolic disorders and Vitamin D testing (e.g., LIAISON® Vitamin D Diagnostic Solution).
  • Infectious diseases, with assays such as LIAISON® QuantiFERON® TB-Gold PlusII and a wide menu of viral and bacterial tests.
  • Gastrointestinal diseases, including the LIAISON® Calprotectin assay for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
  • Hepatitis, HIV, and other viral serology including the LIAISON® XL Murex HIV Ab/Ag HT and a full hepatitis menu.

You can use the LIAISON® Family Menu and specialty pages on the website to explore the full test offering.

Diasorin’s portfolio is structured so that different platforms address distinct workflow and throughput needs.

  • LIAISON® XL is a fully automated platform suited for high-throughput hospital and link laboratories, offering a broad CLIA menu and high productivity for routine and specialty testing.
  • LIAISON® XS guarantees consistent high-quality diagnostic results but is positioned for small to medium laboratories that need a compact footprint and flexible throughout.
  • Simplexa® Direct assays are appropriate when rapid, targeted molecular results are required with minimal hands-on time, for example in acute respiratory testing.
  • LIAISON PLEX® panels are best for labs that need flexiblesyndromic, multiplex testing for respiratory and bloodstream infections
  • LIAISON NES® assays are best for urgent respiratory results needed at the point of care.
  • NxTAG® panels are best for labs that need syndromic, multiplex testing for respiratory infections
  • Luminex xMAP® platforms (MAGPIX®, Luminex® 200™, and FLEXMAP 3D® systems) serve mid- to high-plex multiplexing needs in clinical and translational settings. While, the xMAP INTELLIFLEX® (RUO) and MAGPIX (RUO) systems provide mid- to high-plex multiplexing needs in research settings.

When choosing between platforms, laboratories should consider:

  • test volume
  • menu requirements
  • turnaround-time expectations
  • available staffing.

Diasorin materials and product specialists can help design configurations that align each lab’s workflow.

xMAP® Technology from Luminex (part of Diasorin) is a bead-based multiplexing platform that allows simultaneous detection of multiple analytes in a single reaction.

Microparticles with distinct signatures are coated with capture molecules, enabling high-plex detection of nucleic acids or proteins on instruments such as MAGPIX® System, Luminex® 200™ System, xMAP INTELLIFLEX RUO Systems, and FLEXMAP 3D® System.

This technology allows clinical and research laboratories to:

  • run large panels of targets in a single well
  • conserve sample volume
  • increase throughput compared with single-plex assays.

xMAP® solutions are used across infectious diseases, immunology, research, and other specialty applications where multiplex information adds clinical value.
