Background
The problem: Over-testing with broad syndromic panels.
Are you over-testing and over-paying with fixed syndromic panels? Traditional syndromic panels can often over-test, over-report, and over-charge, even when patients only need answers for the most clinically relevant pathogens to their clinical presentation.

What is Flex™ Testing?
Flex™ Testing is a customizable, clinically guided way to run syndromic panels available through our LIAISON PLEX® System.
It allows clinicians and labs to:
- Order and report only the targets that match the patient’s clinical presentation.
- Reduce unnecessary broad panel testing that can increase patient out-of-pocket costs.
- Support diagnostic stewardship while still delivering rapid, reliable results.
- Easily add more targets if initial testing is negative. No recollection. No retesting. No delays.
- Avoid duplicate testing, such as re-running analytes already covered by a prior screening panel.
How does Flex™ Testing work?
Panel customization happens directly on the LIAISON PLEX® instrument using prebuilt panels that your stewardship committee or clinical team defines for your different patient populations.
