LIAISON® Mumps IgG
Despite extensive immunization programs, mumps remains a serious health issue, especially in children, pregnant women, and at-risk patients, who have potentially been exposed to the disease.
The LIAISON® Mumps IgG assays is an automated solution to support clinicians in patient assessment of immune response and protection to the Mumps virus.
Background
Serological testing for Mumps IgG antibodies is recommended for patients suspected of suffering from a mumps infection. Symptoms include the hallmark presentation of parotitis, but also orchitis or signs of involvement of the central nervous system. The determination of IgG antibodies is recommended in specific population groups without documented history of immunization or infection, such as patients with inflammatory bowel disease considered for vaccination and healthcare workers.
