Disease state

Respiratory tract infections involve a wide variety of etiologic agents and present with overlapping signs and symptoms. Prediction of the causative organism based on clinical findings alone is not reliable. The most frequent agents responsible for respiratory infections are viruses, followed by bacteria. Large respiratory panels for syndromic testing may not suit diverse seasonal, geographic, and patient-to-patient respiratory testing needs. LIAISON PLEX^® Respiratory Flex Assay is a sample-to-answer, multiplexed in vitro diagnostic test for the detection and identification of respiratory disease-causing viruses and bacteria from patient samples, all in one self-contained cartridge.
